Prayer & Fasting

While God calls our energy and focus to Science Park next month, we stay mindful that being involved in his grand vision for Dubai means recognising that all neighbourhoods need Jesus. We invite you to use the following guide and prayer points to join the entire Fellowship family (5000+) every Wednesday in prayer and fasting for this city.

1. Lord, I pray that you would strengthen the believers in _______ Neighbourhood.

2. Lord, I pray that you would draw those that don’t know you in _______ Neighbourhood.

3. May you establish a great number of people in _______ Neighbourhood who are seeking and following you through healthy biblical community.

More About Fasting

Being in the Middle East, the concept of fasting is not foreign to the people who reside here. The question that may come to mind for some is what differentiates fasting between followers of Jesus and Muslims.

Both Muslims and followers of Jesus fast, but their purposes for fasting differ. Followers of Jesus are not commanded to fast. However, for a Muslim to keep one of the Five Pillars, there is an obligation to fast during Ramadan.

For followers of Jesus, we must remember that the Bible teaches that fasting merits neither God’s favour nor a place in paradise. Jesus remains the only way to the Father.
